Nydia Menendez (2008-2009)

Ms. Menéndez’s career has evolved from various perspectives, including government,  the private sector, academia and as  an industry advocate. This makes Ms. Menéndez exceptionally able to assess the competing interests from the perspective of someone who has taken one position or the other at some point in time, thus facilitating settlement of most cases with favorable results to her clients, including expeditious and cost effective resolution of matters.

Ms. Menéndez started her career with the Florida Department of Revenue. Following  her tenure with the Department, she worked as a manager for  one of the leading  accounting firms, then pursued her Masters in Taxation fromGeorgetown University,  where she was enrolled as an fellow with  theCouncil on State Taxation (“COST”), the  premier state tax organization representing the interest of nearly 600 multistate  corporations engaged in interstate and international business.

Ms. Menéndez then joined one of Florida’s largest law firms, before she established her own practice more than ten years ago. She continues to provide the same excellent service, with the individual attention and care that can only come from a smaller firm.
Ms. Menéndez has taught state and local tax for the Masters Program of Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University, as well as continuing legal education (CLE) presentations on state taxation.

Ms. Menéndez has now been practicing for more than twenty years. Her clients range from multinational companies, to small family business and individuals. Some of her clients have followed her for years from firm to firm. In fact, the vast majority of her clients are referrals. Ms. Menéndez knows all her clients by name and seeks to understand not only their business operations, but their individual and personal goals and objectives. Her philosophy is to represent and advocate for her clients in a comprehensive fashion, so as to ensure that the business and personal legal needs of her clients are properly met.
