Hurricane Maria Relief Efforts

The PRBAF is working with several community organizations and law schools to provide assistance to the victims of hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Please consider making direct donations to the PRBAF Scholarship Fund and visit the links listed below to get involved with the organizations that support our efforts.

 

Student Temporary Assistance and Relocation Program (STAR) sponsored by the PRBA of Florida Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships to law students from Puerto Rico who wish to continue their studies as visiting students in the mainland U.S. Your tax deductible donation should be sent by mail to PRBAF Scholarship Fund, Attn: Anthony Suarez, 517 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32804. The University of Puerto Rico’s School of Law has established an Emergency Relief Fund to assist its students and personnel affected by hurricane Maria. You may make direct donations to Oriental Bank Account number 8017505883 and routing number 221571415. For additional information, contact Dean Vivian Neptune-Rivera at  vivian.neptune@upr.edu.

 

Acacia Network – Casa Boricua in Orlando has already stopped accepting donations, but will be in need of volunteers to assist in shipping and delivery of goods to people in Puerto Rico, as well with the influx of citizens from the island into the Orlando area. They can be contacted at (407) 985-3734.

 

Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration in Kissimmee is able to offer assistance to citizens who arrive in Florida and are displaced by hurricane Maria. Their location is at 15 South Orlando Ave., Kissimmee, Florida 34741 and is open from Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Their phone number is (407)985-3734.

 

Orlando Cares Hope for Puerto Rico is a volunteer drive to deliver 4.4 million meals to help provide relief to those affected by hurricane Maria and is organized by Feed Children Everywhere.
